Harmony, like an architect of sound, weaves
the connections between the chords, making musical elements that come from Romanticism, connect the past with the present.

I took my Doctoral Degree in Jazz piano at the prestigious Eastman School of Music, where I had to work really hard in order to achieve the institution’s level of excellence. While I was there studying Jazz, I took advantage to promote the music and culture of Brazil.  My doctoral essay was entitled The musical thought of Egberto Gismonti in 7 Anéis for piano. With this work, I had the opportunity to present to the Academy, the history of Brazilian music, with special attention to Choro and to the music of the Brazilian composer, Egberto Gismonti. My effort was not in vain. At the end of my doctoral program, I was the first student the be awarded with the prize Marian McPartland, which was granted in recognition for my outstanding work and to the services to the school. My international experience also includes work and studies in France, such as the concert with the UNESCO's orchestra and Jazz studies at the Regional Conservatory of Nice. My academic work also includes a master degree and publications on important academic magazines, such as Per Musi and Ars Inter Culturas.
